UNDERSTANDING THE BAREFOOT CONCEPT
Not like the others. By design.
What your foot feels every day depends on the shoe. Here's why barefoot changes everything.
The wide anatomical toe
Your toes return to their natural position. Instead of being compressed, they spread out freely with each step, which improves balance, stability, and propulsion. Ample toe room can also reduce discomfort from rubbing and pressure points.
Zero drop
The heel and forefoot are at the same height, just like when you walk barefoot. Your posture naturally realigns, your weight is distributed correctly, and unnecessary tension on your knees, hips, and back diminishes over time.
The ultra-flexible sole
A sole that bends and twists in every direction allows your foot to move as it's meant to. As a result, the dozens of muscles and joints in your feet finally get to work, naturally strengthening and gaining flexibility, day after day.
Proprioception
Proprioception is your body's awareness of its position in space. A thin sole allows your feet to "feel" the ground and transmit this information to the brain. This continuous feedback improves balance and coordination, a valuable benefit for children developing their gait as well as for active adults.
All-day comfort
Without a raised heel or stiff padding, your feet work naturally and tire less. Many people describe a feeling of lightness and freedom, even after long days on their feet or long walks.
Children are born with perfectly formed feet, and the first few years are crucial for their development. Barefoot shoes allow little feet to grow in their natural shape, with room for the toes and freedom to move. It's the best gift you can give a developing foot: the freedom to build itself.
If you have been wearing conventional shoes for years, your feet will need some time to adapt to this new freedom. Start gradually, a few hours a day, and increase at your own pace. In a few weeks, your feet will become stronger, and barefoot comfort will become second nature. This is advice we are happy to give to every customer.
Note: We have replaced the idea that narrow shoes "cause" bunions with more accurate wording (they can worsen or promote discomfort). Bunions have a strong genetic component; careful wording protects your credibility.
